COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Col. Charles P. Murray Jr., U.S. Army (Ret.), 89, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2011. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at First Presbyterian Church. Interment with full military honors will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Anne K. Murray; son, Brian D. Murray and his wife, Linda Ann, of Fort Payne, Ala.; daughter, Cynthia Anne Murray and her husband, Christian Jones, of Roswell, Ga.; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many loving family members.
