DELORES "DEE" SHERFIELD Delores "Dee" Sherfield, a long-time resident of the Georgetown/Lexington, KY area, passed away on May 1 at the Hermitage House Memory Care Center in Castle Hayne, NC. She was 78. Born in 1935 in Bloomfield, IN, Dee received a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Hanover College in Hanover, IN, and a Master's Degree in Political Science from Indiana University. She taught 8th grade for many years, and later worked as a church secretary until she retired. Dee enjoyed sewing, decorating, traveling, and entertaining friends and family. She loved to laugh, and always found the positive in any situation. Her sense of humor and optimism will be missed. She is survived by Don, her husband of 53 years, of Castle Hayne, NC; daughter and son-in-law Cindie and Jay Kinlaw of Alpharetta, GA; daughter Suzi Gislason of Wilmington, NC; two grandchildren, Hunter and Natalie, who were a source of great joy to her; and her brother, Leon Flory of Mooresville, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Zelma Flory, her brother Robert Flory, and her sister Barbara Cory. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 30 at 11:00 am at Oleander Memorial Gardens. Memorial gifts may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1406 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC, 28401.
