GAIL HASSELBACH HENDERSON Gail Hasselbach Henderson was born April 12, 1944 in Fremont, Ohio. Her parents were Norman and Alma Kiser Hasselbach. She died on November 16, 2013 in Annapolis, MD following a long battle with peritoneal carcinomatosis. Gail was an accomplished abstract artist, whose works hang in numerous private and corporate collections. She also had a highly successful professional career as a public school administrator and university educator, and was a graduate of the Ohio State University (BSc and PhD) and Michigan State University (MA). The organizations Gail served include the Ohio Department of Education, Eastland Fairfield (OH) Career and Technical Schools, Arlington County (VA) Public Schools, and the University of North Carolina, Wilmington. She married Dennis Henderson in 1965, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters: Kelly Henderson (Scott Hagen) of Vienna, VA and Amy (Dan) Hayes of Maplewood, NJ and six grandchildren (Lewis, Spencer, and James Hagen; Luke, Jenna, and Sean Hayes). She has been a resident of Edgewater, MD, since May 2013 and previously resided in Wilmington, NC, Washington, DC, and Columbus, Ohio. Gail was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Kaye Letzring, and her brother Gary Hasselbach, all of Fremont, Ohio. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Friday, November 22, at the First Presbyterian Church, 171 Duke of Glouchester Street in Annapolis.
