KEVIN MCMILLIAN BELL Kevin McMillian Bell, 55 of Oak Island passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at his home. Mr. Bell was born December 19, 1958 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Thomas Westmoreland Bell and Lois Penland Bell. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother Joyce Myers Bell. Mr. Bell was the founder, owner and operator of Bell's Supply Inc. on Oak Island. He was a member of Ocean View United Methodist Church; a charter member of the Oak Island Elks Lodge; and had served on the Oak Island Town Council of twelve years including four years as mayor pro-tem. While serving on council during the merger of Long Beach and Yaupon Beach, Mr. Bell suggested the name Oak Island for the new town. He was also the driving force behind the development of the Oak Island Skate Park. Surviving is his wife Shelia Rouse Bell; two sons, Tommy Bell and girlfriend Maci Hoffman; and Wesley Bell, all of Oak Island, three grandchildren, Owen Parker Bell, Ashlyn Camile Bell, and Adyson Christine Bell; three brothers, Mike Bell, Danny Hunter, and Tim Bell; two sisters, Dodie Bell and Nancy Hosterman; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, April 11, 2014 at Ocean View United Methodist Church with Pastor Fred Roberts officiating. Memorials may be made to the , P.O.
