RICHARD DIXON PEACOCK Richard Dixon Peacock of Wilmington died Thursday, December 19th at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was born October 21st, 1930 in Baltimore, Maryland. Richard was the son of Bill and Alice Peacock and is preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Christian Peacock and his parents. Richard served active duty in the Korean War for ten months with the United States Marine Corps. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1956 with a B.A. in Journalism before completing the post graduate program at Harvard University. Throughout his life, he worked in places such as the White House, the Panamanian Embassy, and as Vice President of a communications company. Richard married Bernadine M. Peacock in August of 1993. The two of them moved to North Carolina in 1996 where Richard would then retire. He devoted the remainder of his life to spending time with his children, handling his investments, and being a passionate member of Saint Paul's Episcopal Church. Surviving is his wife of twenty years, Bernadine Peacock; sons Richard and Thomas and daughter Kristen. A visitation will be held at Andrews Family Mortuary and Crematory (1617 Market St. Wilmington NC 28401) on Monday, December 23rd from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church (16 N 16th St. Wilmington NC 28401) on Tuesday, December 24th, beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Sea Lawn Memorial Park in Hampstead, NC with military honors. Condolences may be sent to
