William E. Rector "Bill", 76, of Leland, NC, went to be with his Lord on February 27, 2013.

Bill was born in Lenoir, NC on December 29, 1936 to the late Coot Jones and Henrietta Rector. Bill also was preceded in death by brothers, Eugene, CJ, and Jack Rector and sisters, Lucille Coffey, Faye Story, Martha Griffin and Jo Ann Lewis.

Surviving are three daughters, Rebecca Magro and husband Christian, Michelle Sinclair and husband Chris, and Kelly Franklin; grandchildren, Brianna Revis, Katelyn Sinclair, Abigail Siclair, CJ Margo, and Bellezora Barlow; a special nephew, Steven Coffey; and a special companion, Jo Collins "My Girl".

Bill was a member of Riegelwood Baptist Church where he sang in the choir, worked with Disaster Relief and often helped cook Sunday breakfast at the church.

After high school he moved to Florida where he worked as a life guard on Miami Beach and worked alongside his brother in the restaurant business until entering the Army. Bill retired from Eckerd Drug Co.

Bill was a thoughtful, caring person, always willing to help anyone in need. He will be missed by all those who knew him. He loved bowling, golfing, fishing, crossword puzzles and nature in general. More than any of the above, he loved his Lord.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Riegelwood Baptist Church. A committal service will immediately follow in the church cemetery with military honors.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Riegelwood Baptist Church or to the Disabled American Veterans.

The family would like to express a special note of thanks to his caring doctors and the wonderful nursing staff in surgical ICU at NHRMC.

Condolences may be sent to the family at www.andrewsmortuary.com
