Woskie, George E. "Grumpy" Age 98, formerly of Richfield. George spent 30+ years of his life as a dedicated fireman. Although he was lucky enough to be retired for more years than he worked, he always was happy to share his many firefighter stories with anyone willing to lend an ear. He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner. George was well known for his quick wit and smart one-liners. He was very proud of his ability to catch people off-guard and make them think twice. For those that knew George, you realize that he kept that keen wit right up until the end. George loved the outdoors and spent many years of his life living in Orr, MN. He had a cabin that he kept on Pelican Lake that was aptly named "Woskie Island" in honor of his family. He was passionate about hunting and fishing but loved being social with his friends and family more than anything else. George was very likeable despite his nickname, and he had a big heart. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Survived by son, Roger (Sandi); 15 grandchildren; 27 2/3 great-grandchildren; and 3 great- great-grandchildren.
