Stevens, Richard Thomas age 71, of St. Paul, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 28, 2013. Survived by wife, Meredith Montgomery; sons, Gregory and David; grandson, Cole; and brother, James Stevens. Born June 9, 1942 to Alice and Claude Stevens, Dick graduated from the University of Minnesota -Twin Cities in 1964 with a BA in English Literature. His distinguished career in radio broadcasting, recording, audio and video production, and interactive media began at student-run KUOM/Radio K in Minneapolis. He subsequently produced programs for the LCA in Philadelphia and then held management positions at CBS Records in New York, EMC Corporation, Digital Excellence, Inc., and The ADS Group in Minnesota. Most recently he was elected a board member and became chair of the marketing committee at KFAI / Fresh Air Radio in the Twin Cities. Equally adept at running a business or handling the controls as an audio engineer and producer, Dick produced many internationally recognized media products for educational publishers throughout the U.S. and Europe. Dick was an avid collector of vintage synthesizers, which he used to create original musical compositions in his home recording studio. He was also a gifted painter, a voracious reader, and a discerning listener keenly interested in the properties of sound. Those whom he touched both professionally and personally will greatly miss his notable work ethic, enthusiasm, and inspiring qualities, as well as his erudition & wit.
