Johnson, Robert George "Boz" age 89, of Edina, died on September 27, 2012. Preceded in death by parents David Algot and Ellen Johanna Johnson; brothers Clarence "Spike" and Richard "Tack". Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jane; children Tori Johnson, Bart Johnson (Jeanne), Kendal Loewen (Keith), Sarah Hromada (Andy); grandchildren Kailey and Owen Johnson, Jake Loewen, Evan and Brad Hromada. Bob was born in the back bedroom of a St. Paul bungalow where three generations of Johnsons lived, and attended St. Paul Central High School. He served as a Navy pilot during World War II (Saipan, South Pacific). He attended the University of Minnesota and graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering. After graduation he was employed at Cummins Diesel and then Lew Bonn Co. until being recalled for duty in the Korean War (Aleutian Islands, Alaska). Bob married Jane Dohm on March 27, 1952 on Whidbey Island, Washington. He then worked as an electronic sales engineer at Channel Master, Sylvania and General Instrument before starting his own companies, R-J Sales and Engineering in 1961 and Tortec Corp. in 1978. Memorial on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Avenue, S., Edina, MN. Visitation at 3pm, program at 4pm followed by refreshments. Memorials to Southdale YMCA, Galactosemic Families of Minnesota or donor's choice.
