Andrew "Drew" Allison Charlton passed suddenly from this life on Tuesday, May 6, 2014. He was a lifelong Austinite, born on January 10, 1985. He graduated Anderson High School in 2003 and The University of Texas in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. He returned to UT for two more years and found his calling in the UTeach Program. In 2012, he student taught at his alma mater, Murchison Middle School, where he later secured a full-time position as an 8th grade math teacher. It was in this part of his life that he achieved his greatest accomplishments of educating, mentoring and touching the lives of his pupils. He was able to connect with his students through his strong passion and love for sports, the newest technologies and his genuinely selfless personality. His great contributions and beautiful spirit will always be remembered by his students, community and family.
He is survived by his parents, Tom and Adrianne Charlton, his older brother Matthew and twin brother Ty, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
To honor his memory and accomplishments, a memorial service and reception will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 4pm in the Murchison Middle School gym, a place where Drew spent many happy days as a student and teacher. Drew always had a passion for animals and his family. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Austin Pets Alive or Seton Fund - NICU Department, the place that nurtured Drew and his brothers in their first few weeks of life.
