RUIZ, Isaac Joseph

Isaac Joseph Ruiz, age 39 of Austin passed away Wednesday June 4, 2014. He was born on September 21, 1974 in Fort Stockton, Texas. The son of Nora Elizabeth Pina and Joe Armando Ruiz.

Isaac was a Renaissance man of his time. At the age of 11, Isaac found his passion for music when he began playing the violin and joined the orchestra. Isaac graduated from Crockett High School in Austin, TX in 1993. After high school, Isaac explored a variety of interests and passions. He was able to pursue his interest in the culinary arts as a chef for several years. He truly enjoyed preparing meals for family and friends. He later decided to pursue his calling to serve God, the church, and His people. He was given the opportunity to grow further in his faith when he spent a year at the St. Mary and St. Moses Abbey in Sandia, TX. Later, he decided to continue serving his community by becoming a police officer for 7 years with the Manor Police Department. Isaac was happiest when he was serving others. He was a lover of art, all music, and dogs. Isaac was a gentle and caring spirit with a witty sense of humor. He had an amazing ability to find amusement in any situation. Isaac was a brave man who confronted life's hardships with courage and faith.

Isaac is survived by his mother, Nora (Lizi) Pina of Austin; father, Joe Armando Ruiz and wife Veronica Ruiz of Fort Stockton TX; step-father, Victor Marroquin of Austin and step-sister, Monica Bassett of Houston; sister, Monique Dippel and husband Damon Dippel; nephew, Jackson Dippel; niece, Emerson Dippel all of Katy, TX; brother, Jeremy Joe Ruiz, of Midland, TX; numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.

Proceeded in death by his grandmother, Maria Oralia Ruiz of Fort Stockton; Clelia M. Pina and George U. Pina of Fort Stockton.

Funeral Mass 9:30 am Saturday, June 7, 2014 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 126 W. Oltorf with Reverend Jim Martin CSC officiating.
