Jimmy Lee Bryan of Richwood, Texas formerly of Taylor passed away March 20, 2014 at the age of 78 at MDA Cancer Center in Houston.
He graduated from Taylor High School in 1953, Texas A&M University in 1957, and the Army War College in Carlisle, PA in 1986. He was a 30 year veteran of the US Army retiring as a Colonel in 1987 serving both active and reserve duty.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jeanne Bryan, daughter Susie Bryan Mott and husband Boyd, brother Bobby Bryan and wife Marlene, 2 grandchildren Patrick Shea and wife Amber, and Tiffany Bryan and 3 great-grand children, Grayson, Gisele and Declan Bryan. He was preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Ophie Bryan and son Patrick Bryan.
He taught school in Indiana and in Florence and Freeport Texas retiring in 1996. He was a member of American Legion Post 241 and served as finance officer and Adjutant.
A memorial service will be held at the Memorial Baptist Church in Taylor, Texas on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 2:00 pm.
