John Franklin LEMON Obituary
LEMON, John Franklin

John Franklin Lemon, age 74, departed to be with the Lord he loved on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at 3:40 pm. He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Judy; a son, Jeff Lemon and wife Vicki, of Temple, Texas; a daughter, Jan Callaway and husband Dan, of Round Rock, Texas; grandchildren Zachary and Emma Callaway and James and John Thomas (J.T.) Lemon; a brother, Richard Lemon and wife Dawn of Austin, Texas, and a sister, Carol Smith of Austin, Texas; in-laws, nephews, nieces and many, many friends.

John was born to James and Leola Lemon on July 27, 1940 in Frankfort, Kentucky. He attended Travis High School and the University of Texas.

John loved the Lord Jesus Christ and led his family to do the same. He was a faithful member of Allandale/Great Hills Baptist Church for 45 years. He was the most devoted of husbands, the most patient of fathers, the most loyal of friends. He had a gentle temperament, a fierce work ethic, an easy laugh, and a generous heart. His fight against cancer was brave but difficult and his family rejoices over the perfect body he is now enjoying in the presence of his Savior.

The family is especially grateful to Dr. Rob Fuller, Hospice Austin and H.E.B. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice Austin. Visitation will be at Great Hills Baptist Church on Sat., 8/23 at 10:00am, followed by the service at 11:00am.
