John Lawrence Babicki, Sr., 74, of Granger, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014 at St. David's Georgetown Hospital in Georgetown, Texas. John's family will gather for a time of celebration and sharing of memories on Thursday, April 24, 2014 from 3:00PM to 6:00PM at The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce, 1 Chamber Way off Stadium Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78628. Services will be held at a later date at Saint Peter's and Saint Paul Cemetery in Springfield, Pennsylvania, under the direction of Robert Moreland Funeral Home, Chester, Pennsylvania.

John was born July 18, 1939 in Chester, Pennsylvania to the late Edmund and Helen Gavin Babicki. John attended St. James' Catholic High School for Boys and graduated in 1957. He worked as a journeyman machinist and went on to achieve his Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering. John moved to Georgetown in 1972 as a part of the start-up team for Westinghouse Electric Company, in the Round Rock, the gas turbine division. John went back to college and achieved his Bachelor's Degree in Business from The University of Texas in Austin, Texas. John married Diana Morrow on December 30, 2001. He retired from Westinghouse, in 2002 as the Facilities Manager and 44 years of faithful service. John enjoyed a good round of golf with good friends at The Georgetown Country Club where he was a member for over 40 years and served as the treasurer for 9 years. Being a mechanical engineer, John enjoyed constructing and building, he was the inventor of the Polish Umbrella. John is preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Helen Babicki; his brother, Edmund Anthony Babicki, Jr.; his first wife of 38 years and the mother of his children, Frances "Queenie" Babicki; his son, John Lawrence Babicki, Jr.; and his step son-in-law, Heath Bice. John was loved by all, even though he was an avid "Philadelphia Eagles Fan".

John leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Diana Babicki of Granger, TX; his daughters, Denise Babicki Winn and her husband Kevin of Marble Falls and Francine Babicki Dundee and her husband Randy of Colorado Springs, CO; his step-daughter, Casey Bice of Granger; his step-son, Bradley Morrow of Austin; his sisters, Eileen Evans of Media, PA and Ellen Jean Brennan and her husband Marty of Moylan, Pa.; his brother, Joseph Babicki and his wife Debbie of Swainton, NJ.; his grandchildren, Valerie Babicki Paul and her husband Aaron, Dave Babicki, Jessica Jill Winn, Jackelyn Elizabeth Winn, John Michael Winn II, Nicholas Bond Harper, Madison Alyssa Dundee, Reece Elliott Dundee, Ryan Pickett, Ryder Bice; great grandchildren, Sienna Paul, Avery Paul, and Evan Paul; along with a host of other loving family and friends.

John's family would like to give a special "thank you" to the staff at St. David's Georgetown Hospital and The Wesleyan Rehab.

Family request memorial donations be made in John's memory to The Wesleyan Nursing Home 2001 Scenic Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78626.
