Kathryn Alyce PARKER Obituary
PARKER, Kathryn Alyce

Kathryn Alyce Parker, 74, of Austin passed away on Tuesday, March 25th, 2014.

Kay was born on October 3, 1939 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Alyce and William Parker. She was raised in Houston, Texas, where she moved with her family in the early 1950's. Kay graduated from San Jacinto High School at which she was a member of the Golden Gauchos drill team. She later attended college at both T.C.U. and the University of Houston.

Kay had a long and varied career, including work at Lockheed Electronics, but she remained most proud and fond of her time working at NASA where she analyzed moon rocks. Kay had an infectious laugh, was erudite, fun loving and a great conversationalist. She was well loved by her many friends and family, especially her nephew to whom she was a loving aunt and a life-long friend. Kay was also an animal lover, and had three cherished dogs throughout her life; Chris, Timothy Robert, and Andrew.

Kay is survived by her sister Meridith Crain, her brother in law Ronald, and her nephew William.

A Memorial Service will be celebrated by Father Ed Koharchik on Saturday May 3, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Assumption Cemetery.
