LaVALLE, Marilyn Kathleen Peterson|
Marilyn LaValle, devoted wife and mother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 10, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Her life ended unexpectedly and much too soon from complications of a cardiac arrest. We know she is now in the hands of the Lord and that Heaven has gained an amazingly beautiful angel. We will truly miss her sparkling blue eyes and a smile so big, it could light up a room. She will continue to be in our hearts forever and we will miss her every second of every day.
Marilyn was born on October 3, 1938 in Taylor, Texas to Hilding and Katherine Peterson. She graduated from McCallum High School in 1957 and attended the Nixon Clay Business College. She worked for the Travis County Tax Office as a Title Clerk for many years and then went on to work at the Universal Auto Title Company retiring in 1994.
Marilyn met the love of her life, Art LaValle, in Austin, Texas in 1960 and they married in 1962. After eleven years of traveling the country together, Marilyn gave birth to a beautiful daughter, who became the ultimate joy of her life. As a family of three, they continued to travel and make many wonderful memories. They were fortunate to celebrate 51 amazing years of marriage.
Her favorite past time was spending time with her loving family. She loved to travel by car to the mountains of New Mexico and Colorado, the beaches of Texas and Florida and all the places in between.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Hilding and Katherine Peterson. She is survived by her husband, Art LaValle, her beautiful daughter, Sheri LaValle Pottebaum, her son-in-law, Todd Pottebaum and her three grandchildren, Savannah (age 8), Jaeger (age 5) and Jax (age 3).
Marilyn's wish was to be cremated and we will honor her wish. To celebrate her life, a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. (Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 200 W. Anderson Lane, Austin, TX). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the
