Marlyn A. Robinson, 66, passed away on February 1, 2014 at her home in Austin, Texas. She was born on July 25, 1947 in Charleston, South Carolina.
Marlyn grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio where she graduated from McNicholas High School in 1965. Her library career began in high school and included positions in Cincinnati, Houston and Dallas prior to settling in Austin. She received a Masters Degree in Library Science at the University of Texas at Austin in 1986 where she was employed for twenty-five years at the School of Law's library. As a member of the reference department she participated in the legal research instruction for law students for several years. She will be most remembered as being instrumental in the development of the "Law and Lawyers in Popular Culture" collection housed at the Tarlton Law Library.
Marlyn enjoyed discussing books, movies and recipes. She was dedicated to her pets and all animals.
Marlyn is survived by her parents Harry and Marty Robinson of Bethel, Ohio: daughter Melanie Von Wahlde (Lisandro Mendez) of Florence, Kentucky; brothers Steven Robinson (Robert Nicolais) of Los Angeles, California; Mark Robinson of Cincinnati, Ohio; Shawn Robinson (Ursula) of Austin, Texas; sisters Bethany Robinson (Roxanne Huston) of Loveland, Ohio; Sydney Helton (Lonnie) of Bethel, Ohio; and Kirsten Brooks (David) of Cincinnati, Ohio; her grandchildren Julianna & Alejandro Mendez of Florence, Kentucky; four nieces and three nephews; friends and colleagues at the Tarlton Law Library.
