Richard O. Pierce Obituary
Richard O. (Dick) Pierce Richard O. (Dick) Pierce went home to be with the Lord February 11, 2012 at the Veterans Hospital in Temple, TX.. He was a resident of Cedar Park, TX for 26 yrs. Richard was born in Brownsville, Texas, May 7, 1922 to Edward and Josephine Pierce. He grew up in Brownsville and after graduation from high school, he attended the University of Texas, until he entered the Navy during World War II, in which he served as a Torpedo Officer. After leaving the Navy, he finished his education upon receiving a bachelors degree in Science and Chemistry. He taught in public schools in the central texas public schools until his retirement. Richard's proudest achievement was his work in the ministry for the Lord. He was a member of the Gideon's for many years. Later he started his own jail ministry for the Lord. He also taught Sunday school in various churches for many years. He was a member of Austin Baptist Church at the time of his death. Richard is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, his daughter Sarah Wittenhafer, sons Roy Pierce, Rand Pierce, David Pierce, Chris Pierce. two step sons, Bruce Fosberg and James Fosberg. Also fifteen grandchildren and two great grand children. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Edward Pierce and Joe Pierce.
