Rudolph "Rudy" Gil Rudolph "Rudy" Gil, age 62, passed away on September 16th, 2013. Rudy was born in Austin, Texas and was proud to be from East Austin, where he attended Palm Elementary, Allen Jr. High, and Johnston High School (c/o 1969). During the Vietnam War, Rudy enlisted into the U.S. Air Force and became a heavy-duty mechanic. We was sent overseas to Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand and returned safely in 1973. When he returned to Austin, he continued his family tradition of becoming a Masonry Master, building up Austin and the surrounding area with bricks, blocks, and rocks, he did it all. In 1974, Rudy married Elizabeth Arevalo and they raised four children together. Rudy is survived by Elizabeth Gil; his son Estevan with his wife Maria, and sons Elvis, Elijah and daughter Nayeli; his son E.J. with his wife Stephanie and sons Noah and Jonah; his son Elias with his wife Cynthia and daughters Victoria and Viviana; and his daughter Esther with her husband Robert Davis and daughter TiAna and son Robert II. He is also survived by his sister Theresa G. Flores; step father Pete Perez, and stepsiblings Remijio Perez, Mary Palacios, and Janie Perez; stepmother Trinidad B. Gil and many nieces and nephews. He joins his father Simon Gil, mother Loque Sanchez Perez, brother Robert, sisters Mamie and Beatrice, and stepsister Cathy. The Family will receive visitors at Austin- Peel and Son Funeral Home, 607 East Anderson Lane, Austin, TX between 5-8 p.m. on Friday September 20th. A Funeral Service will be held at Austin- Peel and Son at 10 a.m. on Saturday September 21st.
