Ryan STANLEY Obituary

It was Easter Sunday. Ryan Patrick Stanley, age 35, went home to be with the Lord on April 20, 2014. Heaven is so much more real to us than ever before because our son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and loving friend, Ryan, is there. He is at peace now. He is well now. And, through God's grace, it is well with Ryan's soul.

Born on March 2, 1979, Ryan lived the vast majority of his life in Austin, Texas. Following graduation from McNeil High, he entered UT Austin as a sophomore and graduated in 2000 with a degree in World History. With the heart of a teacher and a love of travel, Ryan later pursued graduate studies, then taught school in New York before moving to California, to Connecticut, and eventually back to Texas.

Throughout his life, Ryan loved people, travel, sports, all-things-history, the arts and great food. We will miss his sense of humor, his beautiful smile and his kind, tender heart.

He is survived by his mother and father, Kris and Bob Stanley, his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Blake Magee, his nephew, Aiden Magee, nieces, Gracen, Grier, Evan and Ellis Magee, as well as his very special aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members.

A service, celebrating Ryan's life, will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Hill Country Bible Church Austin, Lakeline Campus, 12124 Ranch Road 620N, Austin, 78750. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a memorial gift be made to The Salvation Army, P. O. Box 1000, Austin, TX 78767 or visit www.salvationarmytexas.org to give online.

Ryan will be greatly missed by those of us who have loved him dearly -- now left behind. But we thank God for, both, sharing Ryan with us, as well as for His sustaining grace -- grace to see us through until we meet again.
