Sharon Robertson Obituary
Sharon Diane Robertson Sharon Diane Robertson, 59, went peacefully to be with the Lord on March 7, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. Service: 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Laurel Land Funeral Home. Sharon was born to Gene and Marjorie Robertson in Fort Worth on July 16, 1953. She attended Western Hills High School and had perfect attendance her entire twelve years of school. She moved to Austin in 1971 to attend the University of Texas where she received a degree in Education. After graduation, she went to work for the City of Austin as an accountant and retired from there after 30 years of service. She was a resident of Pflugerville for the last 20 years. Sharon was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church for 40 years where she was an active participant in many church ministries. She was a devout UT supporter and season ticket holder for UT football, baseball, and basketball for over 30 years. After retirement, Sharon continued her lifelong dedication to children as a substitute teacher and nursery worker for several local churches, including her own. She was preceded in death by her nephew, Carter Robertson. She will be missed by all. Survivors: Parents, Gene and Marjorie Robertson; brothers, David Robertson and wife, Jennifer, and Michael Robertson and wife, Cynthia; nephews and nieces, Austin, Randall, Cooper, and Ryan Robertson, Cassie Robertson, Valerie Cooper, and Kristin Quick and husband, Matthew; great-nephew, James Quick; and many other loving family members and friends.
