William E. "Rooster" Andrews, Jr. William E. "Rooster"Andrews, Jr., age 84, of Austin passed away Monday, January 21, 2008. Rooster owned and operated Rooster Andrews Sporting Goods in Austin for many years. Rooster was a beloved friend of the University of Texas and the Austin community. He is survived by his wife, B.J.; his children, Lisa Andrews Ard and husband Mike, Betsy Andrews Dabbs, Griff Andrews and wife Melissa, all of Austin; brother, Bunny Andrews and wife Jan of Austin; six grandchildren, Will and Callie Dabbs, Billy and Luke Andrews, Austin and Adam Ard; nephews, Danny and David Andrews; and his niece, Jennifer Andrews. Funeral services and burial will be private. A reception for Rooster's family and friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2008 on the 9th floor of the West side of the D.K. Royal Texas Memorial Stadium in the 200 Horns-Centennial Room (Belmont Hall). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Rooster Andrews Memorial Fund at All Saints Episcopal Church, 209 W. 27th St., Austin, Texas 78705, or Austin Recovery Center, c/o Edith Royal Campus, 8402 Cross Park Dr., Austin, Texas 78754.
