Albert William Bianchini

June 27, 1924 - June 19, 2014

Albert Bianchini of Salem passed away peacefully on June 19, 2014. He was born on June 27, 1924, in concrete, WA to Angelo and Teresa Bianchini. Upon graduation in 1942, he joined the US Army and served in World War II. While serving, he attended Army technology classes in Texas and California followed by Active Duty in the South Pacific.

After the war ended, he went to school using the GI Bill to attend Western Washington University in Bellingham in the field of education. Later on, he also earned two Masters Degrees. He taught in Sunnyside, WA before moving to Bellevue, WA to teach and counsel. It was in Bellevue where he met Beverly Kayser, also a teacher and counselor for the school district. Their son Corey was born while they lived in Bellevue.

Upon his retirement after 35 years as an educator, he and his family moved to Salem where Al enjoyed volunteering and traveling to various countries, national parks, and beaches. He was a friendly, sociable man with a compassion for people and a heart of gold. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends of all ages that he made along the way.

Al is survived by his wife Beverly and son Corey, both of Salem. He has nine nieces and nephews and their families who live in Washington, Arizona, and Massachusetts. He was preceded in death by his father Angelo, his mother Teresa, and his brothers, Armond and Fred.

A viewing will be held at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service in Salem on Sunday, June 29, from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. Graveside services will be held at Willamette National Cemetery in SE Portland at 12:30 pm on Monday, June 30. A celebration of life will be held at the family home on a date to be determined later.
