Francis Laurance Sult, 92, of Salem, Oregon was reunited with his wife, Elizabeth, in heaven on December 20, 2013. He was born in Roseberry, Idaho on May 17, 1921 to Laurance Ray and Esther Minnie Sult. He served in the Army Air Corps as a pilot during World War II. He married Elizabeth Hogan Sult in 1949 in Boston, Massachusetts, where they both attended Harvard Medical School. They made their home in Roseburg, Oregon, where they practiced as pediatricians and raised four daughters. They served as medical missionaries in Zaire from 1977 to 1984, and moved to Salem in 1998 to be near two of their children and six of their grandchildren. They attended the Salem Alliance Church, and Frank volunteered with Meals on Wheels for many years.
Frank is survived by his four daughters, Heidi Thomas (Greg Thomas), Susan Sult, Lori Goree (Randall Goree), and Terri Sult, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Frank will be remembered as a man of principle, a devoted doctor who loved God, his family, and his garden. A memorial service was held at the City View Funeral Home at 1:00 pm on Sunday, December 22nd, 2013. A graveside service was held at City View Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 24th, 2013 at 12:00. Arrangements were made by City View Funeral Home.
