James C. Bradshaw

October 21, 1927 - March 29, 2013

Jim Bradshaw passed away peacefully at Salem Hospital on March 29, 2013 at the age of 85.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Charlotte. They were married in Salem on August 25, 1953. Jim is lovingly remembered by his children; Barbara Bradshaw, Teri Mason and her husband, Steve, Jim Bradshaw and his wife, Teresa, and Linda Martin and her husband, Rick. He was blessed with six grandchildren; Taylor Mason, Megan Martin, Hayley Mason, Claire Martin, Kelsey Bradshaw and Camille Bradshaw. Jim will also be remembered by his brother, David Bradshaw, his son's Robert and Richard and David's partner, Tom Smith.

Jim was born on October 21, 1927 in Salem, OR to Frederick James and Olive Margery Bradshaw. Upon graduation from Salem High School in 1945, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and proudly served our country for three years. While working on his bachelors degree at Willamette University, Jim enlisted in the U.S. Air Force ROTC. After graduating in 1953, he continued to serve in the U.S. Air Force Reserves as a First Lieutenant until 1958. Later in life, he obtained a masters degree from University of Utah.

Jim was employed by the State of Oregon for 30 years and was remembered especially for his post as the first non-medical Superintendant of Oregon State Hospital. Besides his love for his wife and family, Jim had a passion for Stan Kenton music, traveling and weekly luncheons with good friends.

The Memorial Service for Jim will be held at Restlawn Funeral Home, 201 Oak Grove Rd. NW, Salem, OR on Saturday, April 6th at 2:00PM.
