A native of Quincy, Illinois, Loren Glass spent the World War II years as an employee of the Lockheed Corporation in Burbank, California, where he met his wife, Jeanne Jackson. Following the war, he was employed for 38 years by the Raynor Manufacturing Company (garage doors) in Dixon, Illinois, where he and Jeanne reared their four children. After his retirement in 1982, Loren and Jeanne moved to Santa Clarita, California, for ten years before settling in Salem in 1992. Loren was a dedicated member of Baptist churches in each city where he lived, most recently of Salem First Baptist Church. He also served for twelve years on the board of Corban University in Salem. Loren is survived by his wife Jeanne of Salem, sons Ron (Wading River, New York), Ken (Littleton, Colorado), Mark (Salem), and daughter Terri (Mantorville, Minnesota); and by twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Following a private interment at Restlawn Cemetery, there will be a memorial service at Salem First Baptist Church on Thursday, August 7, at 2:00 PM. Memorial gifts and donations may be made to Gentiva Hospice or to Salem First Baptist Church. Arrangements by Restlawn Funeral Home.
