WOODBURN - Nelson Gohlke born June 6th 1924 in Marion Texas to Arthur and Mina Gohlke. He grew to be a strong, loving, and honorable man. He brought great joy and happiness to all our lives. He passed away on March 13 2013 in his home surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer. He was proud to have served in the military to protect all our freedoms. He served in World War II on the USS Enterprise for 4 years. He married the love of his life Irma L Staples on March 12th 1948 they enjoyed 65 beautiful years together. He is survived by his wonderful wife; Irma Gohlke and their 3 children Karen Holland, Mark Gohlke, & Tracy Brasuell. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. We are all proud of the foundation he built for his family. He will be greatly missed as he was loved, admired and respected by everyone who had the great pleasure of knowing him.
Viewing will be held Monday- March 18, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Cornwell Colonial Chapel- Woodburn.
