Edward J. Grubba

Of Town of Hull, Stevens Point died early Monday morning January 13, 2014 at his home. Age 84 Ed was born July 22, 1929 in Stevens Point. He was the son of the late Anton and Marie (White) Grubba. He attended local grade schools and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School.

He entered the United States Army on January 8, 1952 in Milwaukee, WI. He served as a Corporal with the Co. B 106th Battalion during the Korean War. He received the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze service stars. He was honorably discharged on October 14, 1953.

His marriage to Margaret B. Kluck took place on October 29, 1949 in Rosholt, WI. Margaret preceded him in death on December 18, 2012. Ed worked at Consolidated Papers for many years until his retirement in 1992.

He was a member of the Polish Legion of American Veterans (PLAV) Post 185 of Polonia. Ed enjoyed hunting and fishing, gardening and Bingo.

He is survived by his two sons; Gerald "Gary" Grubba and Dennis (Beth) Grubba both of Stevens Point. Three grandchildren; Melissa, Krystal and Jason. One sister Eleanor M. Tischer of Greendale, WI. He was preceded in death by his wife, one brother Chester and three sisters Bernice, Lucille and Theresa.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, January 16, 2014 at St. Peters Catholic Church. Rev. Arul Joseph V. officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 9:00 A.M Thursday morning at the St. Faustina Room of St. Peters Church until the time for mass.
