Jerome J. Tomczak age 67 of Plover, passed away at his home surrounded by his family April 18, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Jerome will be at 10:30 AM on Thursday April 25, 2013 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church. Burial with full military honors will be at the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM on Wednesday at the Plover - Shuda Funeral Home. A general rosary will be prayed at 6:30 Wednesday at the funeral home. Visitation will also take place from 9:30 - 10:15 AM at the church on Thursday.

Jerome was born May 4, 1946 in Stevens Point, the son of the late Damatius (Sam) and Estelle (Marciniak) Tomczak. He graduated from Pacelli High School in 1964. Jerome entered the United States Army on October 12, 1966 and served his country until his honorable discharge on September 30, 1968. He returned to the area and began playing in local bands including " The Orbits and The Furys". He married Sheryl Reno on September 23, 1972 at St. Bronislava Church. Jerome also worked as a carpenter and at UPS before beginning his career at Consolidated and the Whiting Paper Mill. He retired from Storo Enso in 2007. Jerome was a volunteer firefighter with the Plover fire department for 35 years, which he loved. Jerome enjoyed fishing with Bims, going Up North to Lake Laura. He was an avid Packer fan, and loved the change of seasons Wisconsin offered and his family.

Jerome is survived by his two children: Stephanie (Aaron Weber) Tomczak, Stoughton and Jeremie (Shirley) Tomczak, Brooklyn, NY. His granddaughter Monet Josephine Tomczak. His sister Rose Marie (John) Rosenthal. Two nephews: Gary (Jean) Rosenthal of Plover and Allen Rosenthal of Neenah. His only niece, Kimberly Baker preceded him in death.
