Peter S. Boris
Peter S. Boris, age 55, of Stevens Point, died peacefully at home in the arms of his beloved wife during the early morning sunrise on Sunday, May 4th, 2014 after a courageous 4 ½ year battle with a rare cancer known as Lipo Sarcoma. Peter was born on September 19th, 1958 in Stevens Point. He was the son of the late Peter F. Boris and Louise (Fabiszak) Boerschinger. He attended local schools.
Peter served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1977. He later was honored to become a 100% Disabled Service Related Veteran.
His marriage to Maria "Mari" Worzalla took place on October 6th, 1983 in Stevens Point. The couple recently celebrated 30 years of marriage.
Peter was owner and operator of Boris Trucking and later took over as owner operator of Safeguard Services Mobile Home Repairs.
His hobbies included collecting classic cars and motorcycles, creating very unique art drawings, competing in archery competitions. Peter also enjoyed going for rides in the country looking for deer, fishing, hunting, doing scratch offs and taking a trip to the casino on occasion. He loved to go boating, snowmobiling and camping. He took pride in remodeling projects to his home. He had the most soothing ability to put a crying baby or child to rest as he walked them back and forth in his arms. He enjoyed chatting with neighbors over the fence. Taking care of his pets, especially his beloved dog Punki but most of all, Peter enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His bond with his wife, children and grandchildren will always be strong. Peter was an asset to life and touched the hearts of everyone he met. He was loved by his family and friends, our hearts are shattered and broken.
He is survived by his wife Mari Boris of Stevens Point. Children, Dawn (Dan) Budelier, Peter Brandon Rae Boris, Dody (Robert) Waldoch and Dayton Boris, all of Stevens Point. Grandchildren, Skylar, Xavier, Giavonna, Benton, Gavin and a grandson to be born that he so wanted to meet, Kayden Peter. Also survived by brothers, Robert (Lori) Boris of Phillips and Jeff (Renee) Boris of Amherst. Sisters, Carolyn (Tony) Firkus of Plover, Ann Boris and Russ of Plainfield, Patty (Jerry) Worzalla of Plover, Cheryle (Tom) Janiszewski, Sandra (Robert) Williams, Debra (Perry) Piotrowski and Marion (Emmy) Danielski, all of Stevens Point. Stepbrothers Wayne Wayerski of Junction City, Ken (Cindy) Wayerski of Clintonville and Dale (Angie) Wayerski of Custer. Stepsisters, Shirley (Ron) Hertel of Phillips, Diane Feltz of Rosholt, Tina (Ernie) Feltz and Janis Klismith, both of Stevens Point. He also is survived by brother in law David Lila and sister in law, Mary Boris. He is preceded in death by stepfathers Raymond Wayerski and Ervin Boerschinger, brother Daniel Boris, father in law Jack Worzalla, brother in law Myron Feltz and stepsister Bonnie Lila.
A special thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Aspirus Hospital, Aspirus Regional Cancer Center, UW Madison Carbone Center and Hospital, Froedtert Medical College of Wisconsin Life Center and Hospital, Ministry Medical Saint Michael's Hospital 2nd floor IMC and to Heartland Home Health Care and Hospice. Thank you for taking such excellent care of Peter and going that extra mile for his life.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. On Thursday May 8th, 2014 at St. Peter's Catholic Church with the Rev. Arul Joseph V. officiating. Burial with full Military Honors will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service in the St. Faustina room at the church. In lieu of flowers a memorial in Peter's name will be established at a later date. Pisarski Funeral Home of Stevens Point and Plover are assisting the family with arrangements.
