Linue Jackson (Jack) Gallop was born Oct 29, 1940 in Aberdeen MS. He passed away at the age of 72 Wednesday September 25, 2013 at his home in Gautier MS surrounded by his loving wife, children, sister, and extended family.
Mr. Gallop attended Mississippi State after graduating from Aberdeen High School in 1959. In 1962, Mr. Gallop joined the Air Force where he served 4 ½ years. After his military career he worked in South America for NASA Space Center and later for Bendix Engineering. In 1977 he returned back to the states where he developed and supervised the Bio Medical Department at Singing River Hospital until his retirement in 1999. He also was the sole owner of Gallop Electronics for 26 years. Mr. Gallop was a member of First Baptist Church of Gautier, MS for 18 Years.
His greatest enjoyment came from fishing with his boys and the fishing stories that followed were always memorable. He and his wife also enjoyed cruising and meeting new people. Jack never met a stranger.
Mr Gallop is preceded in death by his loving mother Sarah Grace Gallop, his sister Sarah Lee Waugh, and father Lee Gallop. His is survived by his loving wife Mary Gallop of Gautier, 3 sons: Richard (Kathy) Gallop, his grandchildren Rivers and Summer of Mobile, ALA. Paul (Sarah) Gallop and grandchildren Chance, Kylie, and Ridge of Ocean Springs, MS., and David Gallop and grandchild Grant of Chattanooga, TN. Two devoted sisters, Gwen (Jack) Edwards of Moss Point and Marilyn (James) McCurdy of Escatawpa; four step-children, Tammy Merrill, Karen Fowles, Katie Likens, and Mark Hodge, nine step-grandchildren and 7 step great-grandchildren ,numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. He will truly be missed by all.
Visitation will be held from 5:00pm-7:00pm Saturday September 28, 2013 at O'Bryant & O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, September 29, 2013 officiated by Rev. David Aultman . Pallbearers: Jack Paul Edwards, Johnathan Likens, Michael Likens, Johnny Strickland, Travis Broadus, and Chad Broadus. Interment will follow at Serene Memorial Garden in Moss Point, MS.
