Justin Edward "J Boy " Holley
1995 ~ 2014
Justin Edward "J Boy" Holley, age 19, resident of the Dedeaux Community passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 in New Orleans, LA.
Justin was an Eagle Scout and was a graduate of Hancock High School. He was avid outdoorsman an enjoyed hunting, floundering, riding horses and four wheelers. He was preparing his new horse Big Chief Hildago (means "Second Life") for a barrel racing career. One of his favorite pastimes was working his beagles in field trials.
Justin was a miracle baby. He brought so much love to his family and was a gift from God. February 5, 2013 was a date that changed his life. He began his battle against leukemia which led him through a bone marrow stem cell transplant, leaving him cancer free. Although he beat cancer, other issues associated with its treatment were insurmountable.
Justin would say "Cowboy up…Faith, Hope, Believe."
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Patsy Holley.
He is survived by his parents, Eddie and Janice Holley of Dedeaux; grandparents, Jerry Holley of Dedeaux, and Nathan and Eva Gay Cuevas of Pistache; God parents, aunt Gayle Ladner and cousin Bennie Malley; aunts/uncles, Earl Cuevas (Judy), Kirk Cuevas (Saprina), Sue Beaver (Jeff), Cindy Hinson (Gary), and Ledia Necaise (Ohern); and a large extended family.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 1, 2014, RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln DeLisle Road after 6:00 p.m. Recitation of the rosary will begin at 8:00 p.m.
