Larry Roger Guagliardo
February 5, 1948 - September 19, 2013
Mr. Larry Roger Guagliardo, 65, died Thursday, September 19, 2013 in Ocean Springs.
Larry was a resident of the Gulf Coast before he began his military career, serving in the United States Army, Marines, and Navy, which he retired after 20 years of service. During his military career, he served in the Vietnam War and the Gulf War earning a Purple Heart, and two Bronze Stars. He traveled the world and numerous countries, but his most notable visit was in the Philippines where he met his wife, Adela.
Larry was an avid collector of rifles, guns, and Old West Antiques.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Sam & Eva Guagliardo.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Adela Guagliardo; son, William Richard Guagliardo; two step children, Romeo & Lourdes; sisters, Sharon (Porfirio) Torres, Donna Guagliardo, Lynda (Robert) Hill; brothers, Samuel & Jimmy Guagliardo, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The family of Mr. Guagliardo wishes to extend a special acknowledgement to Dr. Edgar Hull, and the staff of Hospice of Light especially Glenda, Carol, and Cathy during his illness.
Pallbearers serving will be Anthony Guagliardo, Shawn Magowan, Robert Hill, William Milstead, and Patrick Walker.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, September 23, 2013 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 2090 Pass Road, Biloxi with Father Patrick Mockler celebrating the service. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment with full military honors will be rendered in Biloxi National Cemetery all under the direction of Southern Mississippi Funeral Services of Ocean Springs.
