Richard Edward Johnson, Jr.
Richard E. Johnson, Jr. (R.E.), 83, passed away on November 10, 2013. He was born September 15, 1930 and was preceded in death by his parents, Marie and Richard Johnson, Sr., sister, Mollie Mosley. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Marlene Johnson. He is survived by his two loving children, son, Ken (Krista) Johnson and daughter, Charlene (Brink) Grush, his two grandchildren, Ryan and Christina Grush, and stepsister, Wilma Wilcox. He began his career with South Central Bell as a lineman and retired as supervisor in 1987 with 38 years service. Richard went on to serve our country in the Korean War, for which he received a letter of appreciation from the President of Korea. He was a Life Member & Past Commander of both the American Legion Post 139 and V.F.W. 3253 in Bay St. Louis, Past President of the Telephone Pioneers, Metairie Council. He was a member of Our Lady of The Gulf Catholic Church. He was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather. Always the life of the party wherever he went and maintained a sense of humor until the end.
The visitation will be on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home, Bay St. Louis, MS, from 9:30am until 11:15 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 am at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis, MS. Interment is at Biloxi National Cemetery at 1:30 pm in Biloxi, MS.
