Victoria Tate Pacheco-Webb, 105, a retired teacher with the Pass Christian School System departed this life on November 10, 2013. She was born in Pass Christian to the late William A. and Lillie Tate.
She graduated from Straight College High School in New Orleans, LA and attended Xavier University and received a Bachelors of Arts degree from Southern A&M University at Baton Rouge, LA. She also graduated from Straight Business School, New Orleans and the Lincoln Institute of Practical Nursing, Chicago, IL. She taught school for 38 years. She was a former teacher and basketball coach for Marion County School, Lampton, MS, Burgland City School, McComb, MS and Pike County Training School, Magnolia, MS. She was an alumna of Straighties of Dillard University and Southern University of Baton Rouge, LA. She was a former member of Central Congregational Church in New Orleans, LA.
Mrs. Webb was a parishioner of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, Pass Christian, a member of St. Stephens Court #26 Knights of Peter Clavier and a former Grand Lady, also Junior Daughter Councilor Knights of Peter Clavier and a member Lady of Grace Knights of Peter Clavier. She sang with the choir in her church. She was a member of National Education Association, Mississippi State Association, Gulf Coast Teachers Association, American Association of University Women, National Association of Federal Employees, American Legion #139, Memorial Auxiliary, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Gulf Coast Temple of Elks #471. The Ventress Johnson Antler Guard, Gulf Coast Returnee Social Club, Gulf Coast Blues Commission and Hansboro Homemakers Club.
She was married to the late Theodore Anderson and to this union the late Joel Augustus Anderson was born. Later she met and married the late Wallace Pacheco-Webb. Those that will cherish her memory include her sister, Lillie Tate-Gueno, seven grandchildren: Haleemon, Joel Keith, Jon Kevin, Dean, Donna, Quentin and Jalyn Anderson; a step-daughter, Alvera "Sandy" Henderson, 44 great and great- great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
