Hanger Beverly Opal, 86, of Port St John passed away peacefully on Aug 3, 2013 at home with her husband, Del, by her side. Beverly was born in TN on Oct 26, 1926 and moved to Ft Lauderdale, FL as a child. She is survived by her husband, Del, whom she married on 10/4/1945. She is also survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Peggy of Loxahatchee, FL, grandson and wife, Jeffrey and Carissa of Milton, FL and great-granddaughter, Alexis Grace, along with nieces, Glenda Nipper, Barbara Geohagen, Barbara Helton, and other extended family members and many close friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Hattie Mae Helton, and brothers, Kenneth Lee, Edward and Russell. Beverly was very active in the Women of the Moose, joining the organization in 1951, holding several offices in the Ft Lauderdale area, including Grand Regent from 1985-1986, and traveled throughout the US and Canada, setting up new chapters, etc. When she & Del moved in 1995, she moved her membership to the Merritt Island chapter. A private burial service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pompano Beach, FL. In lieu of flowers, Beverly requested donations be sent to MooseHaven or the Michael J Fox Parkinson's Foundation. The family would like to thank all the wonderful people at Hospice of St Francis for their wonderful care of Beverly during her last days.
