Charles ("Charlie") Kingdon Major, 90, died May 3, 2014. Charles was a long time resident of Oakland Park Florida. He was born February 1, 1924 to the late Charles W. and Doris Y. Major in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from Williston Military Academy in 1943, and joined the U.S. Air Force. Following his service, he worked for Precision Fabricators, Motorola, MCI, and Sony as a tool and die specialist. Charles is survived by his son Jonathan and wife Jane of Houston, Texas, brother Paul Major of California, granddaughters Katie and Laura Major of Denver, former wife Janet Onkey of Huntsville, AL and Bonnie, his beloved dog and companion. A service in his honor will be held at Paradise Resort Rec Center, 2121 NW 29th Ct, Oakland Park, Ft. Lauderdale Florida, at 10:30 a.m. May 10, 2014. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the ASPCA.
