Miner, Charles Patrick, born April 12, 1927 Toronto, Ohio passed away July 23, 2013 at his home in Boca Raton, Florida surrounded by family. Charles & Norma Hosey were married June 11, 1949. They celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary prior to Norma's passing on October 20th, 2009. Charles was a devout Catholic. His legacy to his children and grandchildren was to witness his strong faith and devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Charles was a graduate of The Ohio State University and was a huge Buckeye Fan. During his 35 year career, with CIT Corporation, he advanced from field sales to member of the Managing Board of Directors. Charles was a member of St. Joan of Arc Parish, and also served as the Director of Development, and was instrumental in raising $10 million dollars toward the church Building Fund. Charles was also a former parish member of St. Michaels Columbus OH; St. Peters Mansfield, OH; St. Mary's Massillon, OH; Immaculate Heart of Mary Minnetonka, MN and Ascension of Boca Raton. Charles proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy aboard the USS Toucan in the Pacific theater '44-'46. Charles and Norma were the proud parents of 9 children, Catherine Miner, at home, Patrick (Roxanne) of Davenport, IA, Mary Mitchell (Dave) of Pembroke Pines, FL, James (Sharon) of West Chicago, IL, Thomas of Riverview, FL, Elizabeth Frank (Richard) of Hickory, NC, Michele Murray (Patrick - Deceased) of Winfield, IL, Meg Bickel (Mark) of Orlando, FL, Joanne DiSalvi (Thomas) of Green Bay, WI, his sister Margaret of Mansfield, OH his brother Joseph of Largo, Florida, 34 Grandchildren and 23 Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Thursday, July 25, 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Boca Raton, on July 26, 2013 at 11:00 am.
