Vozzola, Donald E., age 76, of Hollywood passed away April 11, 2012. Born in Hartford, CT, Don married his wife of 50 years, Esther, in 1961. Don served in the U.S. Air Force in the 1950s, after which he completed his Bachelor's Degree at the University of Hartford and shortly thereafter began his 26-year career at IBM. While at IBM, Don spent 3 years working on NASA's Apollo space program in Huntsville, AL. Upon retirement from IBM, Don completed a Master's Degree in Psychology at Nova Southeastern University and began a second career as a licensed mental health counselor, most recently at the Broward Outreach Center. Don was an active member of Little Flower Church parish for more than 40 years, serving as a lector and Eucharistic minister, a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus of Hollywood, and a past Commander of the American Legion in Hollywood. Don was a wonderful father, grandfather and husband. He was a kind and giving person who touched the lives of many people through counseling, volunteer work as well as personal interaction with everyone he encountered. Don is pre-deceased by twin brother David and brother Eugene, and survived by wife Esther; sons Donald (Sharon) and Michael (Lissette Leon) and daughters Eileen Vozzola Diaz (Gerry) and Mary Vozzola Carroll (Kevin); grandchildren Eric, Tara, Ryan, Christina, George and Sean. Visitation Sunday, April 15th from 5 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary Service 7 p.m. at Landmark Funeral Home. Funeral Mass Monday, April 16, 2012, 9:30 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church followed by entombment at Hollywood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Broward Outreach Center, 2056 Scott St., Hollywood, FL 33020.
