Doris J. (Simmons) Kimes, 90, of Margate Fla, passed away in the care of Vitas Hospice on March 31st, 2014. Doris was born March 2nd, 1924 in Spring Township, Berks County, PA. She was the daughter of the late Ruth (Leaity) Neuroth and her step father was the late Francis G. Neuroth, Birdsboro, PA. Her husband Howard F. Kimes died May 20th, 1967. She was pre-deceased by her son Jeffry A. Kimes on January 3rd, 1984. She was also pre-deceased by her sister, Marilyn D. (Neuroth) Flanagan and brother-in-law, William G. Flanagan. She was a 1942 graduate of Wilson High School, Spring Township, PA. She then became a certified beautician. Doris enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1950 until her honorable discharge in 1953. She worked as an administrative assistant for many years at Community General Hospital, Reading, PA. Shortly after the death of her son Jeffry in 1984, she retired to the Fort Lauderdale area, which remained her home until her passing. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Kathleen L. (Flanagan) Askins, Mechanicsburg, PA, Maureen A. (Flanagan) Shumaker, Dillsburg, PA , Michael P. Flanagan, Dillsburg, PA, Christopher J. Flanagan of Douglassville, PA, and their spouses. Doris will be interred with her husband, Howard, at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading, PA.. A graveside service will be held May 8th at 11am.
