Brown, Frances Patton Frances Patton Brown, 82, died with her daughter, Daphne Brown Quinn by her side, on Thursday, December 27, 2012. She was born in Asheville, NC on July 2, 1930 to Joseph Marion Patton, Jr. and Anna Lorena Feimster Patton. Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Stewart Morton Brown, whom she met at St. Petersburg Junior College in 1946. They married in 1948, attended the University of Florida and taught school in Yulee and Zephyrhills before moving to Ft. Lauderdale in 1959. She first worked as a librarian at Rogers Junior High and then head librarian at Plantation High and retired as a librarian from Broward Community College. In addition to her daughter, Frances is survived by her son-in-law, Chris, who brought her great comfort and much humor; her two brothers, whom she cared for dearly, Joseph and Stuart, both of the St. Petersburg area; three very special nieces, Janine, Jolene and Justeen; three nephews and many cousins throughout Florida and NC. A gathering of family and friends to remember Frances and celebrate her life will take place on Saturday, January 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Atlantic Room at the Atlantic Towers, 1920 S. Ocean Drive, Ft. Lauderdale. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Gold Coast, Ft. Lauderdale or to Flamingo Gardens.
