Harold L Gaughran of Pompano Beach passed away Sunday, May 19, at his home. He was 90 years old. Mr. Gaughran is survived by his beloved wife, Minnie; his daughter, Linda; and his granddaughter, Natalie. Mr. Gaughran was born in Hoboken NJ, and served in the Army during WWII. He settled in New York City in 1947 and began a career in Certified Public Accounting. He was Comptroller of Fairchild Camera and Instrument when it fabricated the first camera to accompany an astronaut into space. Harold was an expert amateur astronomer, and chess player. After moving to Pompano Beach in 1974, he established an accounting business which he ran for twenty years. Following cremation, services will be at 4 pm, Thursday, May 30, at Saint Gabriele's Church on A1A in Pompano Beach.
