Harvey Gilbert Asay, 78, of Davie, passed away on August 24, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Loretta Janet, daughters, Susan (Ron) Cramer of Plantation, Shirley and Becky of Davie, son, Brian of Hollywood, and grandson, Brian (BJ) of Hollywood. He also leaves behind his beloved cat, Cookie, his faithful companion for the past 15 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ella Asay, brother, John Jr., sisters, Margaret, Dorothy, Lillian, Elsie, Ruth, Virginia, and his son, Harvey, Jr. Harvey was an avid Florida Marlins fan and a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan. He was happiest watching the games on TV, relaxing in his favorite "easy chair." A Koren War veteran with the U.S. Marine Corps., a memorial service is being planned for a later date at the South Florida V.A. National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL.
