Irvin N Hoffman, age 93, passed away on April, 29, 2013 in Bluffton, SC. Mr Hoffman was born in Philadelphia and lived in Jersey City, NJ and Delray Beach, Fl. before moving to South Carolina. He worked as a chemist for over 40 years in Newark, NJ. Irv spent 70 wonderful years married to his wife Edna, who survives him. He is also survived by a son, Jeffrey Hoffman and his wife Lucy of Greenville, SC, a daughter Donna Hoffman of Bluffton, SC and 4 Grandchildren, Adam Goldberg, Asher Hoffman, Charlie Bondurant, and Joey Bondurant. Irv served as commander of the Department of New Jersey Jewish War Veterans and was involved in Veterans Affairs for over 40 years. He served in the US Army during WWII in the Asian-Pacific Theater as part of General MacArthur's headquarters 1941-1945. A military funeral honors service will be held at Beaufort National Cemetery in SC on Friday, May 3 at 12 PM. Donations to Lowcountry Hospice of Bluffton are appreciated.
