Jerome "Jerry" Friedman passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014. Jerry was survived by Claire, his beloved wife of over 45 years. He was also survived by his daughter Deborah L. Herman and her husband Gilbert, his daughter Gail E. Robinson, his son Marc S. Robinson and his wife Joy, and his daughter-in-law Carol Friedman (widow of his deceased son William). Jerry was a proud grandfather of four, Jason Friedman, Rachel H. Szczesiul, Matthew M. Robinson and Christina L. Robinson. He was a Navy Veteran and he served in World War II. Prior to permanently moving to Boynton Beach, Florida, Jerry lived in Springfield, N.J. where he was the proprietor for over 32 years of George's Seafood Restaurant, a popular and very successful restaurant in Union, N.J. Jerry went to Weequahic High School in Newark. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 60 years and he played the saxophone and clarinet with the Shriners. Jerry was passionate about the game of golf and he played as much as he could. He was a lover of music and you could often hear him singing along. Jerry was loved by all and he will be sorely missed. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at the Beth Israel Memorial Chapel in Boynton Beach. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County or the in Jerry's memory.
