Joseph E. Malecek, 88, of Ft. Lauderdale passed away Aug. 16, 2013. Born July 11, 1925, in Chicago, Joe served in the US Army during World War II. He worked as an accountant for T.E. Wells & Co. for over 50 years. Joe and Gloria moved to Ft. Lauderdale in 1974 and have been active members of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Gloria; daughter, Sharen Trischank; sons, Jeffrey (Janet), Steven (Jeri), Timothy (Margaret) and James (Valerie); 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and sister, Marion Giroux. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeff, 2 sisters and 1 brother. Visitation begins at 6:00 p.m. with the Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at Fred Hunter's Downtown Ft. Lauderdale Home, 718 S. Federal Highway. Inurnment will be in the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
