Kearns, Lawrence E. "Bud" Lawrence E. Kearns, went to sleep on October 20, 2012. Bud was born on May 19, 1920 in Granby CT. He served honorably in the Pacific theater during WWII, attaining the rank of Corporal. He was a lifelong supporter of the U.S. Marine Corps and its ideals and traditions. Semper Fi. Bud retired from Western Union. He was also an electrician and homebuilder in West Simsbury, CT. Bud is survived by his former wife, Edith Kearns of CT. He is also survived by his beloved Doris O'Connor of Boca Raton. He was predeceased by his eldest son Bruce. Surviving are his daughters Marie Kearns of Pompano Beach and Patricia Julian (Frank) of Windsor Locks, CT, a son James Kearns of Riverside, CA, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Kraeer Funeral Home in Boca Raton is handling the arrangements. Graveside services will be at the South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7, Lake Worth, FL on November 7th at 11AM. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent in his name to the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation, 3800 Fettler Park Dr., Suite 104, Dumfries, VA 22025, or to Hospice by the Sea, Inc., 1531 Palmetto Park Rd., Boca Raton, FL 33486.
