Melvin Drobbin, 88, died April 16, 2013 in Boca Raton, Florida. He leaves his wife of 31 years, Florence (Rosenblum) Drobbin, his daughters, Faith, Lynn & Leslie, stepsons Joseph Ross and Ronald Rose, six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Mel graduated from Boys High in 1941 and completed 3 years of study at CCNY before serving in the 171st Engineers Combat Battalion in WWII. Prior to his retirement, Mel was the proprietor of Drobbin's Department Stores of Little Neck, Manhasset and Locust Valley, NY. A private burial will be held at the Mt. Ararat Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY on April 19, 2013.
