Devoted husband, father and WWII veteran, Robert L. Bloomberg, 88, left this world on April 29, 2013. Born in Boston, MA, his family moved to Miami, FL in the 1930's. At 19, he joined the army and on June 6, 1944, as part of the Army Signal Corps., he participated in the Normandy invasion, receiving the French Medal of Honor in 2011. He rarely spoke of his heroic deeds and led a simple, honest life. Robert received his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami in 1950, married and had three children. He was a member of the Florida Bar and was a practicing attorney for over 50 years. He loved boating and fishing, violin music and loved to say he never met a cat he didn't like. He is survived by his devoted wife Ann, his children, Gigi (Martin), Mevi (Patricia) and Randy (Joanna); grandchildren, Gianna, Stephanie, Annabel, Pearl and his beloved Manx cat, Felix. Memorial Services will be held at 9:15am, Friday, May 3, at the South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 S. State Rd 7, Lake Worth.
