Goering, Scott Robert, 18, of Jupiter, FL, suddenly and tragically passed away Tuesday, May 16th. He will be lovingly missed by his devoted parents, Merrily and Don Goering; sisters Colby and Whitney Goering, and his large extended family: Harvey and Viola Goering and Beth Sugalski of Gainesville, FL, Chuck and Betsy Goering of Chicago, IL, Katie, Christy, Theresa and Davey Peoples of Virginia, Bob and Marian Allen of Delray Beach, FL, Diana and Randy Briggs of Ocala, FL, Allison, Bo and Nadia Briggs of Ocala, FL, and Nancy, Abbie and Maggie Schwaderer of Boca Raton, FL. Scott was due to graduate 4th in his class from Jupiter Community High School on Thursday, May 25, where he was the Science Pathfinder Nominee, the Secretary of the National Honor Society, the Spanish Honor Society, the Science Honor Society, and the FJAS. He was especially thrilled to have been on the Tennis Team at Jupiter High. Scott loved playing tennis competitively and socially, and regularly challenged his Mom on the court on the weekends when he wasn't boating with his Dad, or playing ping-pong on the deck with his sisters and friends. Scott was a happy and energetic young man with a wide circle of loving friends. He had an infectious smile and an empathic heart, which made everyone around him feel special and inspired. He had dreams of studying Neurobiology and Psychology at the University of Florida, where he hoped to change the world and make it a better place. Now the world is diminished because Scott's beautiful light no longer shines in it."May you build a ladder to the stars, and climb on every rung, May you stay forever young". Services will be held Saturday, May 20th, at 11:00 A.M. at Jupiter First Church, 1475 Indian Creek Parkway, Jupiter, FL 33458. Tax deductible contributions may be made to the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties, 700 So. Dixie Hwy, West Palm Beach, FL, 33401, for the benefit of a Scholarship established in the name of Scott R. Goering, to be awarded annually to a special and deserving graduating Senior at Jupiter Community High School.
